Erie Trail-Panhandle Pathway Connector Route South or East
Directions are for an over-the-road bicycle link between the Erie Trail (host to Great American Rail-Trail, American Discovery Trail, and US Bike Route 35) and Panhandle Pathway. The 10-mile asphalt route is shared with motor vehicles. Please follow rules of the road and proceed with caution.
At Starke County Road 700 East, go right (south) toward the Starke-Pulaski County Line where at the next intersection the time changes from Central to Eastern. Stay straight onto what becomes Pulaski County Road 200 East. For those going to the Panhandle Pathway, the road winds, changes numbers, and becomes County Rd 240 East.
Note ONLY to travelers on Great American Rail-Trail, American Discovery Trail and USBR 35: After crossing the Tippecanoe River, turn left onto Pulaski County Rd 675 North toward Monterey and Rochester.
Go past Pulaski County Rd 300 North and DNR's Haschel Public Access Boat Ramp. County Rd 240 East curves sharply to the west and becomes County Rd 250 North. Continue West and just before reaching Tippecanoe River bridge, turn left onto Pulaski County Rd 200 East.
Starting with the Tippecanoe River on the right, follow County Rd 200 East, with a slight jog to the right at County Rd 200 North, for 2.5 miles to the STOP sign at Indlana State Rd 14. (NOTE: High Speed Traffic on Indiana State Rd 14.)
Cross Indiana State Rd 14 and continue south 1/2 mile to County Rd 50 South. Turn right onto County Rd 50 South and wind west with the Tippecance River on the left to the "T" and STOP sign at Old Indiana State Rd 14. Then turn left on Old Indiana State Rd 14 and proceed southwest into Winamac.
Continue west across the Tippecanoe River Bridge, through the four-way STOP at Riverside Drive, and through the traffic light at US 3S (Monticello Street). Continue west an additional 2 blocks to Panhandle Pathway, aka, the Winamac Parkway Recreation Trail. Tum left onto the Panhandle and continue south 22 miles to Kenneth, near France Park and Logansport, OR turn right to downtown Winamac.
