Everyone is invited to the August 21 Grand Opening of a one-mile trail extension through North Judson, Indiana.  At 1:30 pm CT, the American Discovery Trail Society’s designation of North Judson as an official “Trail Town" will be celebrated.  The American Discovery Trail is a transAmerican walking and bicycling route from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean.  NIRPC Transportation Manager, Mitch Barloga, who is a member of the ADT’s Board of Directors, is slated to present the designation.  He was instrumental in rerouting the ADT through North Judson and north to LaPorte and Michigan City. 

 

Please stay for a 2:00 pm CT, ribbon cutting ceremony and the Grand Opening of the trail extension.  The existing trail is host to the Great American Rail-Trail, American Discovery Trail, and US Bike Route 35.

 

Festivities include music by Return to Normal and refreshments.  Bike racks made by Knox student welders will be unveiled.  These events will follow final Indiana DNR walk-through and inspection of the trail extension. It was made possible through a DNR competitive grant with generous support of donors, supporters, and members.
